New 10DLC campaign vetting fee & TN restriction
FollowWhat's happening?
Beginning January 31, 2023, the wireless industry’s primary Direct Connect Aggregator (DCA) for 10DLC will begin implementing a $15.00 (USD) vetting fee on 10DLC campaigns. As currently understood, this is an additional new fee that will be charged per “vetting event.” This may mean that if the DCA rejects a campaign two times before it is finally approved, Service Providers would be charged three vetting fees for a total of $45.00 USD for a single campaign’s vetting and approval process.
Bandwidth continues to work to find commercially reasonable solutions to the mandatory implementation of this fee, but we want to give our customers as much advance notice of these changes as possible. At present, Bandwidth advises that 10DLC Services and Service Providers may begin incurring these newly mandated fees on January 31, 2023. However, we want to make sure that our customers are taken care of and have adequate time to prepare for these changes, so Bandwidth anticipates only beginning to pass the new fees through to our customers on February 11, 2023. This would first appear on the April 7, 2023 invoice.
Additionally, effective today, we will begin preventing telephone numbers from being assigned to campaigns that have yet to be approved. This change is being made to protect message delivery, as some mobile network operators will not support traffic from campaigns in a pending or rejected status.
What do I need to know?
Because these new mandatory changes are being imposed, it will take longer than usual for campaigns to be fully ready to send traffic on 10DLC, so customers should submit their campaigns early to avoid delays.
Bandwidth will be passing this vetting fee through to its customers and will also be preventing telephone numbers from being assigned to campaigns that are not yet approved by the DCA. These new requirements aim to ensure that Service Provider brands and campaigns are registered according to the wireless carriers’ standards.
