Update to toll-free verification requirements

Sam Mackey

What's happening?

The industry’s toll-free aggregator has updated the required information for verifying a toll-free number, in addition to implementing new traffic limits for restricted and pending toll-free numbers

Historically, Bandwidth customers could provide their own information as the business contact. However, the aggregator now requires the information of the end user of the toll-free number to be provided in this field.

This change applies to all toll-free numbers pending verification, and there is no recourse or appeal process for toll-free numbers that have been rejected for this reason at this time.

What do I need to know?

We've updated our toll-free verification submission form to reflect the new requirements. We've also provided more context on the form to ensure that these new requirements are as clear as possible.

The toll-free submission form fields that now require the end user's information are as follows:

  • Business Contact: Name
  • Business Contact: Email
  • Business Contact: Phone
  • Message Sender: Legal Company Name
  • Message Sender: URL/Website
  • Message Sender Primary Company Address or Corporate Headquarters

The bulk sheet fields that now require the end user’s information are as follows:

  • Business_Contact_First_Name (Text)
  • Business_Contact_Last_Name (Text)
  • Business_Contact_Email (Text - email address)
  • Business_Contact_Phone_Number (Text - single phone number)
  • Business_Name (Text)
  • Corporate_Website (Text)
  • Business_Addr1 (Text)
  • Business_Addr2 (Text) City (Text)
  • State (Text - State Abbr.)
  • Zip (Text)

Please also be aware that there is a new denial code for these rejections:

  • 547 - Invalid Information - ISV Contact Information Provided, Need Assigned End User
