How do I move a phone number to a different Sub-account or Location?

Once you’ve created Sub-accounts and Locations in the Bandwidth Dashboard, you can move your phone numbers between them at any time. To do that, perform the following steps:

  1. Log into the Bandwidth Dashboard.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select Numbers and click My Numbers.
  3. Once you’re on My Numbers page, select the Sub-account and Location you want to search your numbers by and click Search.

  1. Now, select the phone numbers you’d like to move and click Move Numbers.

  1. Finally, select the Sub-account and Location you’d like to move your phone numbers to and click Move Numbers.

  1. If your move is successful, you’ll see Your Move Numbers order completed successfully message at the top of the page, along with the link to the order. That link will take you to the Move Phone Numbers Order Details page where you can see the order status, date, history, and other helpful information.

You can also move a phone number directly from its Phone Number Details page. To do that, perform the following steps:

  1. Log into the Bandwidth Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Search Telephone Numbers section on the right side of the home page.
  3. Type or paste the phone number into the search field and click Search.

  1. Click the blue phone number link in the Search Results section. This will take you to the Phone Number Details page.

  1. Once you’re on the Phone Number Details page, navigate to the Move Number section on the right side of the screen.

  1. Select the Sub-account and Location you’d like to move your phone number to and click Move Number.
  2. If your move is successful, you’ll see Your Move Numbers order completed successfully message at the top of the page, along with the link to the order. That link will take you to the Move Phone Numbers Order Details page where you can see the order status, date, history, and other helpful information.

Where can I find my Move Numbers order?

There are several sections in the Bandwidth Dashboard where you can search for your Move Numbers order. Let’s go over each one of them:

Search for an Order

  1. Log into the Bandwidth Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Search for an Order section on the right side of the home page.
  3. In the Order type drop-down, select Move tns.
  4. Fill out additional information and click Search.

Search Orders

  1. Log into the Bandwidth Dashboard.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click Search and select Orders.
  3. In the Order type drop-down, select Move tns.
  4. Fill out additional information and click Search.

Orders

  1. Log into the Bandwidth Dashboard.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click Orders.
  3. Scroll down to the Move TNs Orders section.
  4. Click the order ID to learn more about it.

  1. Visit our Developer Docs.
  2. Click /Accounts.
  3. Scroll down to /accounts /{accountId}/moveTns and click it to learn more.
