How do I move phone numbers to a different Sub-account or Location?
FollowOnce you’ve created Sub-accounts and Locations in the Bandwidth Dashboard, you can move your phone numbers between them at any time:
- Log into the Bandwidth Dashboard.
- In the top navigation bar, select Numbers and click My Numbers.
- Select the Sub-account and Location you want to search your numbers by and click Search.
- Select the numbers you want to move and click Move Numbers.
- Select the Sub-account and Location you want to move your numbers to and click Move Numbers again.
- If your move is successful, you'll see a notification at the top of the page with a View Order link. Clicking that link will redirect you to the Move TNs Order Details page where you’ll see all the standard order information.
If you need to move a single phone number, you can also do it from the Phone Number Details page:
- Log into the Bandwidth Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Search Telephone Numbers section on the right side of the home page.
- Enter the phone number and click Search.
- Click the blue phone number link in the Search Results section. This will take you to the Phone Number Details page.
- Once you are on the Phone Number Details page, navigate to the Move Number section on the right side of the page.
- Select the Sub-account and Location you want to move your number to and click Move Number.
- If your move is successful, you'll see a notification at the top of the page with a View Order link. Clicking that link will redirect you to the Move TNs Order Details page where you’ll see all the standard order information.
Where can I find my Move Numbers order?
There are several sections in the Bandwidth Dashboard where you can search for your Move Numbers order. Let’s go over each one of them:
Search for an Order
- Log into the Bandwidth Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Search for an Order section on the right side of the home page.
- In the Order type drop-down, select Move Phone Number.
- Fill out additional information and click Search.
Search Orders
- Log into the Bandwidth Dashboard.
- In the top navigation bar, click Search and select Orders.
- In the Order type drop-down, select Move Phone Number.
- Fill out additional information and click Search.
Orders
- Log into the Bandwidth Dashboard.
- In the top navigation bar, click Orders.
- Scroll down to the Move Phone Number Orders section.
- Click the order ID to learn more about it.
Can I move phone numbers via API?
Yes, you can move numbers and track those movements as an order using the /moveTns endpoint:

- Select /Accounts.
- Scroll down and click /accounts /{accountId}/moveTns.
- Click GET or POST to learn more.
