What types of International Calling plans does Bandwidth offer?Follow
Our International Long Distance (ILD) product allows U.S. customers to terminate (make outbound calls) globally. Bandwidth offers three types of dial plans for International Calling:
- International Lite
- International Full
- Optimized International
The International Lite plan allows you to terminate calls to most international destinations, with the exception of high-risk countries where we see incidents of fraudulent traffic. Please take a look at the International Lite Call Plan Restricted Locations list for more information. This is a good option if you have less sophisticated fraud monitoring in place but still need to offer termination to international destinations. The International Full plan allows you to terminate calls to international destinations to which Bandwidth provides routes, except for those on our High Risk Block List. This is a good option if you absolutely need to terminate calls to countries which are restricted on our International Lite Call Plan. You can download the current rates for this plan here.
Note: Since this plan doesn't restrict dialing, there's a risk of running up high costs due to fraudulent traffic. Although we've implemented a High Risk Block List to protect you from many fraudulently targeted prefixes, we highly recommend that you follow fraud mitigation best practices to minimize this risk further.
The Optimized International plan, also known as Optimized Cost Routing (OCR), allows you to terminate calls to international destinations to which Bandwidth provides routes, except for those on our High Risk Block List. However, unlike the other two plans, this option is designed for more sophisticated, telco-savvy customers looking for Least Cost Routing (LCR) for ILD.
Important: To use this plan, you must be able to accept a 503 and be fully LCR capable, as Bandwidth isn't obligated to complete these calls. If you're looking for higher completion rates and/or can't accept a 503 for route advance, we recommend using our International Full or International Lite plan.
