Industry approach to non-compliant SMS traffic
FollowWhat's happening?
Bandwidth has been informed that the messaging industry will begin implementing tighter controls on SMS traffic in accordance with the CTIA guidelines and carrier codes of conduct, beginning in July. This is in response to the fact that the messaging industry is still seeing a high amount of unverified and unregistered traffic being sent despite increased surcharges.
This means that SMS traffic to the wireless carriers will be at a higher risk of being blocked if it's not registered and compliant with messaging best practices. If unregistered or unverified traffic is blocked, the only path to getting the traffic unblocked is to register that traffic.
