Canada long code messaging best practices

Long code traffic sent to Canada is typically done over P2P routes. As such, the rate limits for sending to Canada are 50 message segments per minute (standard P2P rate limits), with the exception of a few carriers. Additionally, you'll want to limit how many messages (segments) are sent to a particular recipient at one time. Please keep your sending limits to 10 segments/second per destination number.

Additionally, A2P content sent over long codes is subject to P2P filters and therefore best effort since long codes are not a fully sanctioned A2P channel in Canada. For A2P content and high throughput in Canada, we recommend using the toll-free channel for the best deliverability.
