Toll-free messaging blocks beginning November 8

What's happening?

Effective November 8, 2023, the toll-free messaging aggregator that Bandwidth uses to support toll-free messaging traffic is blocking all restricted (formerly called "unverified") toll-free numbers (TFNs) from sending traffic. At this time, there is no change to limits on sending from pending TFNs.

What do I need to know?

As a reminder, TFNs are considered restricted if the number has not yet been submitted for verification OR if a previously verified number has had its verification revoked. 

The toll-free verification process ensures that your services running on TFNs comply with carrier policies and industry best practices. This also provides the toll-free messaging aggregator with relevant service information to reduce the likelihood of false positive filtering and wrongful SPAM blocks.

What do I need to do?

Review our toll-free verification process to ensure all of your TFNs are verified.
