Invalid ANI blocking

In order to combat illegal robocalls, the FCC has authorized providers to block calls that originate from phone numbers on a Do-Not-Originate (DNO) list, and those with invalid, unallocated, or unused numbers (see FCC CG Docket No. 17-59).

It is under this direction that Bandwidth is actively taking steps to block the following:

  • Blocking at the Request of the Subscriber to the Originating Number (see 10-17)
  • Calls Purporting to Originate from Unassigned Numbers (see 18)
  • Calls Purporting to Originate from Invalid Numbers (see 19-22)
  • Calls Purporting to Originate From Numbers Not Allocated to Any Provider (see 23-31)
  • Calls Purporting to Originate From Numbers That Are Allocated But Unused (see 32-40)
