An endpoint contains a unique callback number and caller name that, along with a geolocation, are displayed to the Public Safety Access Point (PSAP) at the time of the 911 call.

This article explains how to add or delete one or more endpoints in the 911 Access Portal. For instructions on how to do that in the Bandwidth App, please see this article instead.

How do I add a single endpoint?

  1. Log in to the 911 Access Portal.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select Emergency and click Endpoints
  3. Enter the phone number into the Telephone Number field.
  4. Enter the end user's name into the Caller Name field.
  5. Click Yes to confirm the success prompt.
  6. Under the Current Addresses field, click Add Address
  7. Enter the address and click Ok.

If you're having trouble validating the address, please use the Address Validation tool:

  1. In the top navigation bar, select Emergency and click Address Validation.
  2. Type the address into the fields and click Validate

How do I add endpoints in bulk?

  1. Log into the 911 Access Portal.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select Emergency and click Bulk Import.
  3. Complete the endpoint import file and save it as a CSV. You can use our sample file as a template.
  4. Click Choose File and browse to locate it.
  5. Select Add or update endpoints from file.
  6. Click Import Endpoints.
  7. Each bulk import will be assigned a Batch ID, which can be used to check the status of the order in the Batch Import Status section on this page.

Note: To remove endpoints in bulk, complete the steps above but select Remove endpoints from file in step 5 instead.

Additional information about the Endpoint Information screen

  • The 911 Access Portal can support up to three addresses on file, but only ONE can be active at a time. To change which address is active, click the light switch icon with the green checkmark. To delete an address, click the red circle and slash icon.
  • Once validated, you may click the Provisioned PSAP Information link to see which Public Safety Access Point (PSAP) would answer a 911 call in an emergency situation. We suggest you request approval using the Direct Emergency Phone Number before placing test calls.

If the address doesn't validate or you have other questions, please open a ticket with your Bandwidth Support Team or hit us up at (855) 864-7776!
