MMS Messaging: Use a unique filename for new media uploads
What's happening?
We are changing the expected behavior around the management of hosted media for API customers when sending MMS messages.
In the past, a new media upload would overwrite a previous media upload with the same file name. Now, you need to use a new, unique filename to successfully send updated media.
What do I need to know?
The previous overwrite function can still be achieved using the DELETE and PUT commands. However, we recommend using unique media filenames as described above because this is generally best practice and will be the most supported practice by our API system.
What do I need to do?
When managing your hosted media, ensure that new media uploads use a unique filename with the PUT function.
For unwanted media, continue to use the DELETE function.
