Changes to the CNAM default behavior when using an integration
Currently, if you create a Location without CNAM (Caller Name) enabled and associate it with an integration on an account that does have CNAM enabled, this will override the Location settings and automatically enable CNAM on that Location.
However, effective November 19, 2024, this default behavior will no longer apply, and you’ll be able to create a new Location for an integration without enabling CNAM, even if it's enabled on the account. Please note that you’ll have to manually enable CNAM on each new Location if you want it to match the account’s settings. For more information on this change, please see our announcement.
Important: This change only applies to new Locations. Any CNAM configurations on existing Locations won’t be impacted and will remain in place.
Here’s what the new behavior looks like in the Bandwidth App:
- Log in to the Bandwidth App.
- In the side navigation bar, select Account and click Locations.
- Click Create Location, complete the required fields, and switch to the Voice tab.
- Select the Integrations voice method and complete your integration configuration.
