Ireland Sender ID Registry

Alphanumeric Sender Identification Codes, also known as Sender IDs, are custom identifiers used in global messaging to personalize the sender's name. This allows businesses to display their brand name, product name, or another desired customization to recipients instead of a mobile number. To successfully send Alphanumeric messages in Ireland, you must register in the Ireland SMS Sender ID Registry by completing the Sender ID registration process

Sender IDs not registered by July 3, 2025, will be modified with a “Likely Scam” or similar stamp, to flag to the recipient that the SMS may not be legit. This stamp will also be placed on messages routed through carriers not registered in the Ireland SMS Sender ID Registry.

Starting October 3, 2025, messages sent using unregistered Sender IDs or through a provider that is not registered in Ireland will be blocked.
