Changes to New Number Order status

What's happening?

Effective September 1, 2025, we are making a change to the status property of New Number Orders to be consistent with other logic in the Bandwidth App. Currently, we consider the final status of the order to be Partial. Beginning September 1, if all numbers are successfully added to your account, the final status of the order will be Complete, even if there are provisioning issues (such as messaging provisioning errors).

What do I need to know?

Below are a few changes you can expect to see beginning September 1:

  • Order Status: New number orders will now show as Complete when all numbers are added to the account, regardless of provisioning errors.
  • Error Details: Any provisioning errors will be detailed in the response body of the order. It’s crucial to review these error details even if the order status is Complete.

What do I need to do?

Please ensure your systems are designed to check the error details in the order detail response, even when the order status is Complete. This will ensure you are aware of any provisioning issues and can take appropriate action.
