Can I text-enable a non-Bandwidth phone number?

Hosted Messaging is a service that allows Bandwidth customers to enable non-Bandwidth owned/operated phone numbers for messaging. This product is designed to allow customers to send and receive SMS/MMS messages using the Bandwidth platform while leaving the voice service in place with the current carrier/service provider.   • Yes, for non-wireless local numbers, if you are a CLEC and have your own US or Canadian landlines/VoIP numbers or if have valid written authorization from the current CLEC number provider for voice services.
  • Yes, for Toll-free numbers, if you are a RespOrg and have authorization from the business end-user to text enable it, or if you are the end-user and have written authorization from the RespOrg to text-enable the number with Bandwidth.
  • No, wireless numbers are NOT supported.
