How long does it take for new numbers to become messaging-enabled?
New long code numbers are generally enabled for messaging in under an hour, however, changes in messaging provisioning mean that this process can take longer, sometimes lasting several hours.
To help you track your numbers’ provisioning status in real-time and avoid carrier fines and fees for sending messages before provisioning is complete, we’ve introduced real-time provisioning.
To view the provisioning status of your number:
- Log in to the Bandwidth App.
- In the side navigation bar, click Orders.
- Scroll down to TN Option Orders.
- Refresh the page to see the most recent order status.
When there are errors with this last provisioning step, you may see some failures in the telephone number (TN) option orders when you assign a TN to a campaign. This article outlines the errors and actions you can take.
