How do I review my phone number inventory?
In this article, you'll learn how to review your phone number inventory and report which numbers are assigned to a specific end user. You may also find this process helpful to determine which numbers you no longer need.
- Log in to the Bandwidth App.
- In the side navigation bar, select Insights and click Reports.
- Select the End-User Phone Number Assignment report.
- Select the CSV file format, Pending Assignment status, All Time expiration date range, and either 10-digit or E.164 NANP number format.
- Click Start Report.
- Your report will generate under the Past Reports section. Click the download icon to the right of the report to download it.
Upon opening the file, you'll see a list of phone numbers, their assignment status, and status expiry date (on assigned numbers only). Take your time to curate your list of numbers, removing the ones that aren't assigned to an end user. When you’re finished, head back to the Bandwidth App:
- In the side navigation bar, select Numbers and click Number Utilization.
- Copy and paste your curated list of numbers into the Phone numbers field (if you prefer to import it instead, see the instructions below). You can update up to 5,000 numbers at once.
- Under Customer order ID, add a shared ID to group these numbers (optional).
- Click Label Numbers as Assigned.
To import your list of phone numbers as a CSV file:
- In the file, change cell A1 from TN to Number and remove columns B and C (you can also use the CSV template available below the Phone numbers field), then save it as a CSV.
- Drag and drop the CSV file into the Phone numbers field or click Browse to upload it.
- Under Customer order ID, add a shared ID to group these numbers (optional).
- Click Label Numbers As Assigned.
Success! You've labeled your phone numbers as assigned to an end user (please note they may not show up as assigned immediately due to the processing time). Their status will expire after 120 days.
Next, while not mandatory, please follow these steps to disconnect any unassigned phone numbers.
