How does group messaging work?
FollowGroup messaging is classified as MMS. It's also known as group chat, the ability to send and receive text messages.
This involves multiple recipients using long-code phone numbers. It is not bulk messaging.
When sending group messages, there's a maximum of 10 participants in a group. We don't limit the number of recipients for incoming group messages and will pass along whatever we receive from our downstream vendors. However, responses to that group must be limited to 10 recipients. Please see our developer docs for additional information on how our API supports group messaging.
Note: You're charged for each message sent, so if your group message sends to 10 recipients, you’ll be charged for 10 messages. Group messaging is only available for HTTP and MM4 customers but not for toll-free MMS.
