What self-guided training is available in the Bandwidth Dashboard?
FollowThe Bandwidth Learning Lab contains a library of step-by-step guides that explain how to navigate the Bandwidth Dashboard. These embedded tutorials walk you through both the essential tasks that you'll complete as part of your onboarding process, like creating a Sub-account or a Location, as well as those you may find yourself doing on an everyday basis, such as submitting port orders or updating phone number line features.
Where do I find the Bandwidth Learning Lab guides?
- Log into the Bandwidth Dashboard.
- Click Learning Lab & Support in the right corner of the top navigation bar.
- Under Bandwidth Learning Lab, select Onboarding Guides or Everyday Guides.
- Click on any guide from the list to begin the step-by-step walkthrough.
What Onboarding Guides are available?
Create a Sub-Account
Sub-Accounts help organize your phone number inventory to make grouping services a little easier. Think of your account as a filing cabinet, these are the drawers. You’re free to organize based on customer, end-user, geographical location, or another preferred method.
Create an Application (Voice and Messaging APIs)
The Application is where you set your webhook (callback) URLs so Bandwidth can make an HTTP request to your endpoint whenever a Voice or Messaging event takes place.
Create a Location
You'll create new Locations to organize your phone number inventory and configure your routing settings for Voice and Messaging.
Order New Phone Numbers
In this lesson, you'll learn how to order one or more phone numbers. With augmented searching, a shopping cart, advanced filtering, and the ability to span multiple search criteria in a single order, we think you’ll be faster than ever at ordering numbers.
What Advanced Guides are available?
Submit a Port
Porting can be complicated, which is why Bandwidth is here to help. In this lesson, you'll learn porting best practices, how to increase your likelihood of getting your preferred FOC, the difference between a partial port and a full port, how to use our Customer Activation feature, and more!
Create New Users
An Administrator may create additional user logins to give other team members access to your Bandwidth Dashboard account. This lesson will explain how to do that.
Update Phone Number Line Features
Learn how to update the following phone number line features from the Phone Number Details page:
- Call Forwarding
- Outbound Caller ID & Inbound Caller ID
- Directory Listing & Directory Assistance
- SMS Messaging
- 911 Address (UC Accounts)
Edit a Port Order
A port order in Exception status means that Bandwidth received a rejection from the losing carrier. Learn how to edit the order and update the end-user details to reflect what the losing carrier has on their records.
Pay Your Invoice
Follow this guide to learn how to find key components, such as your Account ID and your invoice amount, in order to make a payment on the Bandwidth paysite.
Report on Usage
The Bandwidth Dashboard can produce rated call detail reports. Learn how to download Billing Detail Records (BDRs) for voice and Message Detail Records (MDRs) for messaging.
