Changes to the Bandwidth Dashboard UI/API user access methods
FollowWhat’s happening?
Your Bandwidth Dashboard Access Methods are changing. Currently, users with “API” access are able to use their credentials to access both the Bandwidth Dashboard and authenticate via API. After Wednesday, January 6, 2021, API users will no longer be able to access the Bandwidth Dashboard and only be able to authenticate via the API. This will enable you to have greater control over permissions for your users and further improve the Bandwidth Dashboard’s security.
What do I need to do?
Please log into the Bandwidth Dashboard and ensure your users have the correct access permissions. Navigate to Account and click Users to find the Select User Access Methods option.
Note: Only a user set to Admin can change this setting.
Bandwidth Dashboard access methods:
- Allow user to login to the Bandwidth Dashboard.
- Allow user credentials to authenticate API.
Note: Users accessing the Bandwidth Dashboard are required to reset their passwords every 90 days. Users authenticating API, however, are meant to be doing automated processes and are not required to reset their passwords. We do, however, encourage you to enforce your own automated password reset best practices.
